Ice Cream & Trivia (aka: August's Events)

So many things happened in August: school started again, MOPS started again (woohoo!), and we kicked things off with a fun play date and a wonderful mom's night out!

The play date for August was at Cold Stone Creamery, which was extremely timely since there's nothing better than ice cream in the middle of a hot summer's day!

Our moms and their little checked out what goes on behind-the-scenes at Cold Stone, and from what I heard, it was a fun time for everyone. Actually, it was so much fun, there were two days for this play date.

In case you missed out on this sweet treat, keep your eyes and ears open, because there may be a tasty collaboration between MOPS and Cold Stone in the very near future :)

Last week we also had our first Mom's Night Out event! We met up at Mellow Mushroom for their trivia night, and it was a blast! Each group has to name their team, so our team's name was....wait for it..."Mom's Gone Wild!" Would you expect anything less from mom's enjoying a night away from the kids?

Don't worry—except for enjoying an over-21 drink, we didn't take our team name too literally; we made sure to keep things very "PG" at our table! Lots of laughter and some new friendships were formed, and I know it was brought up several times that we should do trivia nights more often.

April Mom's Night Out

This month was unfinished craft night! Some ladies brought a project to finish (ranging from writing thank you cards to making burp cloths to embellishing flip flops!) and others simply brought themselves. We shared snacks and conversation without little ones demanding our attention. It was an informal and laid back night of fellowship! We are looking forward to the next time to get together, which will be our last MNO before the summer!

March Mom's Night Out

Mom's Night Out at Cheddar's! It was a slim crowd (probably due to many resting after putting in hard work during our recent consignment sale), but we still had a great time together! We expect a larger crowd at our MNO next month!

Mom's Night Out at Olive Garden!

We had a fabulous turn out at our February Mom's Night Out at Olive Garden! We got to eat food while it was still warm, we didn't have to share, and we didn't have to clean up! :)  Joins us for our next one!

Mom's Morning In!

In lieu of a Mom's Night Out, MOPS hosted a Mom's Morning In. We had a great time this past Wednesday! Our coordinator for this year, Lindsey Hopkins, hosted Truth Be Told for us. It was our only (and much needed!) summer get-together. We all had a fantastic time and were excited to meet some fabulous moms interested in joining MOPS. If you would like to join, or just see what we are all about, it's not too late. Our first meeting for the 2014-2015 year is Wed, Aug 6 at 9:30 am. If you can't make it then, you can join us any time during the year!

August Moms' Night Out- Casa Mexico

Our August Moms' Night Out was loads of fun. We met for dinner at Casa Mexico on Hwy 96. It was great hanging out and getting to know some of our new moms. And of course, it was refreshing to take a break from motherhood and enjoy some lady time (even if we did talk about the kiddos most of the evening). Lots of laughs and good conversations were had.

We also had a couple of our former MOPS members drop in to say some goodbyes before Natalie moves to Ohio. She has been such a blessing to our MOPS group as she has loved on and encouraged many of us during her 3 years in Warner Robins and served on leadership two of those years. We love you Natalie!
